For 2 glorious nights we have the luxury of a bed! with sheets! and a private bathroom with white fluffy towels! I'm easily pleased. Mr Parnell, on work assignment at Uluru, has generously invited us to share his hotel room at Ayers Rock Resort. Would we really say no, we'd rather stay in our small tent in the dirt in a van park and share modest facilities with a bunch of strangers... not bloody likely.

Heart of the situation/The red centre
Just wow. The landscape and scenery between Alice and Yulara is amazing. A geologists wet dream. And what about Mt Conner? More spectacular than Uluru in my opinion. Is that blasphemous? It's a surprising distance from Alice to the rock, 480km, someone should do something about that...
