We have left the coast, traveling via the Atherton Tableland south and west, into the inland empire.
The roads are long, flat, hot affairs dotted with cows and goats and emus. The road carries signs warning of 54 metre long road trains. Haven't had the pleasure yet.
We have stopped at Mt Surprise for the night. The surprise is, there is no mountain. It's flat and dusty and 34 degrees.
Some photos below taken over the last couple of days, in the Kuranda and Daintree area. Warning, not suitable for those uninterested in landscapes.
